- the way in which a person or group lives. The locals in Palm Springs live a certain lifestyle-I would describe it as first and foremost, lucky-LOL but also laid back-I mean, it’s a vacation spot, with a side of glamorous, sprinkled with fun, and of course posh hip and modern.
Let’s talk about lucky. I was vacationing here long before I became a resident, and every time we checked out of our super cute boutique hotel I would get sad. Mostly because I had just spent 3-4 days relaxing poolside, listening to the sounds of Sinatra, while taking in the views of the gorgeous San Jacinto mountains. Seriously, when I rounded the corner and saw Morongo in the distance, I would be filled with excitement. Then, as the windmills approached, I instantly felt my worries disappear.
Talk about laid back-who doesn’t want to lounge by the pool, sipping a cocktails, listening to the croons of Michael Buble, soaking up the dry desert sun without a worry in the world? Or how about a day of golf to just pass the time…our valley has some of the most beautiful courses. I wouldn’t even need to hit a ball-just set me up at one of the golf course cafe’s for the day and I would be in heaven.
Glamour and sophistication. Palm Springs was built on Hollywood status. Celebrities graced our valley from the 1940’s-1960’s and remnants of their presence can still be seen in every corner. From the architecture, to the art Palm Springs has a style unlike any other place in the world.
Fun shopping, hip restaurants, exciting events…this is what brings people of all ages to Palm Springs year round. It is not uncommon to see bridal parties celebrating, empty nesters getting away from it all, dog lovers walking their pooches down the strip, families riding bikes, and of course our seasonal guests that come to escape their cold winters.
Yes, I feel super lucky to live here. I feel blessed.
